Fredericksburg, Virginia is such a family-friendly town, and we had a ton of fun there over the summer.
We had beautiful weather most of our stay, but one rainy day sent us exploring for some indoor fun. Look no further than the Children’s Museum of Richmond.
My kiddos loved exploring the interactive exhibits together. There were lots of options for toddlers and preschoolers alike.
E just had to climb her way to the top of the recycled tires. She was so proud of herself.
A was all about his chance to play dentist. He counted all the teeth and loved the fun tools. There are a few different locations in the area, so be sure to check this place out next time you visit.
Sunny days call for farm fun, of course, and we were to excited to visit Braehead Farm. This place does agri-tourism right. The kids got to hang out with tons of animals while we were there and I loved that there were invitations for fun all around the property.
B found the tire tunnel and was so excited to find her sister on the other end.
After we grabbed lunch at the little outdoor café area, we climbed up the stairs to the hay loft. It took everything I had not to just run and jump in on all the fun.
We don’t often say we’ll go back to visit somewhere we’ve been before because we still have so much more to see, but Braehead Farm is first on the list next time we head to Fredericksburg.
Mom and I wanted to check out downtown Fredericksburg the next day, and after a quick stop at the Visitor’s Center, we hopped on the downtown trolley. The driver was so sweet with the kids, and we learned a ton about the town while the kids carefully listened for the bell to ring.
Snack time meant we needed to find a family-friendly spot with treats for all. Italian Station was the answer. Sweet and savory Italian treats and delicious coffee were the best way to end our day.
While we were there, we stayed at the Wilderness Presidential Resort. It is a great place to call home during your visit.
Thank you, Visit Fred for hosting our family. We’ll see you again soon.
