An Instagram-worthy Family Scavenger Hunt in Loudoun County, Virginia

We’re celebrating our wedding anniversary, and we decided to kick it off with some family fun. We’re blessed to call Loudoun County our hometown. It is a beautiful place to live. We love the mountain view from our bedroom window, over 40 wineries and breweries, a delicious foodie scene, and tons of family-friendly destinations to enjoy.

We set off on our Instagram-worthy family scavenger hunt determined to find the “big letters”. Leesburg Arts and LoveWorks are out to prove that “love is at the heart of every Virginia vacation” in a big way by having giant “LOVE” artworks pop up in many different and unexpected places across Virginia.

We found the first piece of artwork in Raflo Park. Of course, it was the perfect photo op, but it was also really fun for the kids. They loved naming each of the letters out loud and climbing around the sculpture. Across the street, the park offers shady picnic tables, beautiful metal sculptures, and a walking path complete with a bridge for your Littles to enjoy.

We can’t wait to come back to this little park for a picnic lunch and some sunshine.

Before we went on another hunt for “big letters”, the kids decided it was time to find some snacks. My husband and I spent our honeymoon in Paris, and I was so pleased to find a charming, Parisian café in Purcellville, VA.

The kids munched on fresh apples and a chocolate croissant. Jacques and I split an amazing brie and French ham crepe while we sipped on cappuccinos and pretended, for just a moment, that we were back in the city of lights.

If your little ones are in no mood for a photoshoot (today, mine were all about it!), there is no need to worry. You can snap a quick pic of the gorgeous hand-painted floors.

After our delightful re-fueling, we hopped back in the mom van to set out on the next leg of our family adventure. We drove a few minutes up the road to another LoveWorks location.

This one can be found in the charming Purcellville downtown area. A few short steps away, you can enjoy a delicious meal at Magnolias at the Mill. The food is amazing. I was bummed we didn’t have time to check it out today.

On our way back home, we drove through the Liberty Street parking lot in downtown Leesburg, VA for a quick photo op. Gotta love a fun mural wall!
