I absolutely love this time of year. It is Cherry Blossom season, and in years past, my hubby and I braved the DC crowds to catch peak blossom season. This year, I knew we weren’t going to drag three toddlers around DC, so I decided to find an alternative viewing spot.
Meadowlark Botanical Gardens in Vienna, Virginia was the perfect place to take the family and enjoy a ton of gorgeous pink and white blooms.
The gardens have beautiful, stroller-friendly paths through the trees. There are benches throughout the area, and a lot of spots to stop and rest or have a snack.
We’ve lived in this area for a while now, and I had never even heard of Meadowlark before. It really is beautiful.
We walked all the way across the gardens, down to the lake, and the kids were so excited to find tons of Koi fish swimming around. We all sat together to enjoy a snack and the beautiful Spring breeze.
After our break, we walked across to the Korean Bell Garden.
I’ve never seen anything like this before (obviously, we haven’t been to Korea, yet), and it was a really cool experience.
So, if you are looking for a family-friendly alternative to Washington, DC this Cherry Blossom season, I highly recommend Meadowlark Botanical Gardens.
