Our visit to Pine Ridge Dude Ranch felt like we really checked something special off our travel bucket list. The Catskill Mountains are the perfect backdrop for all the family fun.
Be sure to sign up for your daily pony or trail ride before you head into dinner. I walked around with her, but even my little 2-year-old peanut got to take a ride.
Asher couldn’t wait to for his turn either. It was such a special experience for them.
We stayed in a Dakota family room. It was the perfect set up for us with a king and queen-sized bed, and the kids had their first bunk bed experience. So much fun!
The ranch is all-inclusive, and the down-home, southern food is delicious. The food options are very family-friendly. You’ll get to eat at the same table for every meal, and the servers get to know you throughout your visit.
There is a daily schedule of activities, and many of them are sweet little invitations to enjoy your family. My little ones had so much fun line dancing, toddler-style. They got to try their hands at roping a “steer”. And, we all enjoyed our evenings out by the bonfire, roasting marshmallows, playing bocce and shuffleboard, and catching fireflies out on the lawn.
The kids also enjoyed the wild bird presentation. They got to meet a wild falcon.
There is a whimsical playground, inviting pool with a huge slide, arcade, and a beautiful lake down the hill from the corrals.
Be sure to take the wagon ride down to the lake. Our driver was so sweet when he stopped to pick black raspberries for my Littles.
I’m sure there are a ton of wonderful things to do in the area, but we never left the ranch. The kids had such a fantastic time there, we never had to.
I’d much rather spend time at Pine Ridge Dude Ranch than New York City, especially with toddlers. Add it to your family travel list. You’ll have a wonderful family experience.
We received a complimentary stay in exchange for this review. As always, all opinions are my own. Your experiences may differ.
