Create a Beach Day at Home

Recently, we took a fun family vacation to Wilmington, NC. One of my favorite parts of the getaway was our morning at Wrightsville Beach. Even in the off-season, it was a beautiful day full of beautiful memories.

It isn’t always easy to get to the seashore, so I thought I’d share a few ideas for a fun family beach day at home with your crew.

What you’ll need

Set up your living room for your little staycation. Lay the towels on the floor and spread the kinetic sand out in a plastic tub or container. Add a few sand toys for even more fun.

Don’t forget to turn up the thermostat or light a fire to simulate that hot summer sun.

Turn on Divine Beaches on Amazon Prime. You can’t have a beach day without the sounds of the ocean, can you?

Add some ocean-inspired tunes. The Beach Boys are a favorite at my house. Toast with your yummy nautical-themed drinks, and enjoy your family morning at the beach.

Before you plan your beach staycation, add in a few educational activities leading up to the event.

Here are two of my favorites.

Enjoy a little bird feeding fun from your backyard if the birds are nearby. Feeding tiny birds in our backyard brought back the beautiful memories of our feeding frenzy with the seagulls.

This is such a great way to make fun memories in the comfort of your own home. You don’t even need a hotel reservation.
