Keeping My Mom Safe While We Are On The Road

We are so blessed to have my mom living and traveling with us.  I can’t imagine our lives without her.  Sometimes, she just isn’t into one of our crazy adventures, and I hate leaving her home alone.  She’s fine on her own, but I wanted some peace of mind knowing she could get help if she needed it.

I’m a pretty typical daughter, and my mind wanders to crazy places.  What if she falls and her cellphone isn’t nearby?  What if she isn’t feeling well and is so disoriented, she can’t dial 911?  I know, I know, I worry too much, but it is hard to leave her behind and not worry a little.

I started researching our options for reliable Medical Alert Systems , and decided that Bay Alarm Medical was our best choice.  It was super easy to order the In home  system and I liked that we could tailor our options to what worked best for my mom and for us.  They even offer an In car system.

It came in an easy-to-open box with each piece packed separately.  The packaging made it simple to understand how to get started.  We were able to set up the HELP unit in mom’s main living area so she’d be able to quickly call for help if she needed it.

That’s where the Vial of Life comes in.  It is such a great idea, and I’m so glad we sat down to fill it out.  The form gives mom a way to speak if she can’t speak for herself.  We listed her allergies, medications, and any health questions a first responder would need to know.  The kids helped her put it up on the fridge where EMS can easily locate it.

As I said, my mom is really active, and she’s always inviting the kids down to her house for tons of fun.  I like that she can throw on the emergency button necklace when she’s on kid duty.  This way, she doesn’t have to worry if she isn’t near the stationary unit.

There is a bracelet emergency button too, and I like this option because it is wearable, and she can keep it on her nightstand after she goes to bed.  Waking up and realizing you need help can be so frightening and disorienting.  With just a push of a button, Bay Alarm Medical’s trained 24/7 emergency operators will be there to contact us, our friends, neighbors and if necessary, our local 911 emergency services.

Do you have loved ones that could use the Bay Alarm Medical Alert System?  Would it give you peace-of-mind?
