This week, we set off on an adventure to Pigeon Forge, Tennessee to enjoy some much-needed family time. We hope you enjoy this review!

We’ve never visited this beautiful part of the country before, and we were pleasantly surprised.  It is such a fun town, and it is surrounded by so much beauty.

We arrived at Country Cascades Waterpark Resort right at bedtime, so we didn’t get much time to explore the resort that evening.  After checking in, we quickly realized that the room wouldn’t accommodate all six of us.  There is room for 6 people, but a wide-open room doesn’t work well when you’re trying to get three toddlers to sleep.  We ended up booking an additional room.

Our home away from home for the five nights we were in town was in the heart of Pigeon Forge. The main attraction was the waterpark right outside our balcony.  I’ve never seen such a toddler-friendly pool before.  Splashaway Bay is designed for toddlers.  They can easily wade around in the one-foot-deep area, splash through the buckets and shower heads, and slide through the tunnel.

If your Littles get tired of that area, they can join everyone in the big pool.  It has a sweeping one-foot-deep area with a clear line that stops them from walking off the edge.  My three were able to walk and swim in that area without any issue.  We took their puddle jumpers, and we all had a great swim every evening.  The perfect way to get out all that crazy toddler energy right before bed.

We stayed in two suites. Each room has a kitchenette (mini fridge and microwave), two queen beds, and a big bathroom with a tub.  Our balcony overlooking the waterpark was such a nice place to start and end the day.

Each morning, we enjoyed a complimentary hot breakfast in Grandma’s kitchen.  They had everything, and we really enjoyed the spread.  There was a highchair for our littlest one and lots of toddler-friendly food options. One random note, they don’t have straws, so I brought kids cups with us every day.

We didn’t know much about the town of Pigeon Forge or Gatlinburg, right down the street, before we arrived.  My husband kept calling it “Little Vegas”.  There are tons of shows, restaurants, and attractions for everyone to enjoy.  We hung around the resort most of the time, but we did get over to Gatlinburg to explore the Aquarium of the Smokies.  This is a “must see” stop.  It was voted the #1 aquarium in the United States, and it was easy to see why.

We brought a lot of our own food, so we didn’t have to eat out much.  We did celebrate my 37th birthday at Outback and stopped for a delicious dinner at Cracker Barrel.

Between nap times and the fact that we didn’t go out much during the day, we found that housekeeping was a bit lacking.  The hotel staff was quick to respond to any of our requests though, and they were super friendly throughout the visit.

We had a fantastic week at Country Cascades Waterpark Resort, and we’re already planning our next visit.

We’d like to thank Country Cascades Waterpark Resort for hosting our family for four nights.  We had such a great time, that we booked an additional night. As always, all opinions are my own.
