Picnic, Park and Sand Box Fun at Douglass Community Center in Leesburg, VA

Imagine yourself in one of those amazing Adirondack chairs, sunglasses pulled down, breeze blowing through and the sound of steel drums in the distance.  Now, imagine doing all of that with your toddler…I know, I know

But, you can!  That chair is reserved for you at Douglass Community Center.

The kiddos and I had a great time at this beautiful park.  This adorable sand box area is the perfect spot to relax your cares away while your toddler plays with the diggers, the trucks and all the sand toys.  You’ll get a momentary escape while listening to the island tunes they play in the background.  We didn’t get to see it today, but I’ve heard they pull out some water features too.  The sand play area is fenced-in.

The large fenced-in playground was a big hit.  There were two big play structures that were perfect for my 2.5 year olds.  They could play “by themselves” on each set.  There were some big kid options, and some nice shady tables for those of us on watch.  Behind the playground, there is a large pavilion for picnicking and water cup refills.  For big events, it is available for rent ($127 for the day).
