Have your eggs and meet the chickens too. You can at one of the many farms across the USA that are opening their doors to family travelers. Blue Hill Farm in Boyce, VA opened their gorgeous doors to us, and we had such a lovely stay.
Our stay was really all about the house. It is simply stunning. Thirty-six sprawling acres and a comfortable wrap-around porch make for the perfect getaway.
I haven’t felt so relaxed in a very long time. As soon as you drive on the property, you’re surrounded by beautiful Monarch butterflies and majestic trees. The back porch is the perfect place to take in the view while you relax in the hot tub.
Now, let me show you the rest of this historic home. Upstairs, you can pick one of the beautiful and comfortable bedrooms. My favorite was the family-style room with 2 twins and a queen-sized bed. If we’d stayed with a group, this would have been a great room for our family.
We were blessed to have the whole house to ourselves, so I got to spread out in the master suite. Amazing!
The three other rooms are cozy and beautifully decorated with vintage décor.
The downstairs is just as wonderful. The living room is filled with cozy overstuffed couches and all the gadgets you need to settle in with popcorn and a good movie.
You know we love to stay somewhere with a kitchen, and this kitchen was one of the favorites. Perfectly appointed with everything I needed to make our family meals each night.
And, the big dining room had more than enough room for us to enjoy each meal and chat about our day.
The host, Carla has opened the next-door cottage to guests as well. And, she’s excited to welcome couples to the property for their big day. Yes, you can say “I Do” at this gorgeous home.
