We’re heading to the Whirligig Festival in Wilson, NC this weekend, so I thought I’d share a bit about what there is to do and see. I hope this helps you plan your visit!

Friday night we’re heading to the Feast of the East: An Eastern NC Culinary Experience. Hire a babysitter and head it to the Oyster & Pig Roast at Vollis Simpson Whirligig Park. Grab your tickets to enjoy live music, yummy food and ice cold drinks. All event proceeds will benefit the Gig360 Young Professionals and the Vollis Simpson Whirligig Park and Museum.

My husband registered for the Whirlirun 5K on Saturday morning. There is also a 10K run, maybe next year! The races start around 8 AM. This is his first 5K, and we’re all super excited to cheer him on.

Most of the day on Saturday and Sunday, we’ll be hanging out at the festival. The kids are super excited for all the shows on the Whirli-Kidz Stage and kid’s activities throughout the day. I can’t wait to see the whirligigs in real life. They look so fun!

But, wait! What is an awesome festival without awesome festival food. OK, I admit, this is probably my favorite part.

Honestly, with 3 toddlers in tow, this is how we’ll be spending our day (and I can’t wait!).

  • Toddler Bounce House

  • Combo Bounce House

  • Obstacle Course

  • Extreme Inflatable Hamster Race

  • Human Foosball

  • Whirligig Arts & Crafts by Wilson Youth Council

  • Playhouses by Leonard Buildings

  • Carnival Games by Land of Learning

  • Build A Bear pop-up ($10 bear & $5 for outfits)

  • Chick-fil-A Area – Come hang out with the CFA Cow and enjoy more fun with the family.

Follow all the fun on Instagram and check back here soon. I’ll be sharing all the fun!
