It is tough to find a hotel room that comfortably sleeps a family of five. Add in three pack-n-plays, and it is almost impossible. When we travel, we always try to find a place to stay that has plenty of space, a hot breakfast included, and an indoor pool, if at all possible. Springhill Suites Allentown Bethlehem/Center Valley has all of this and more.
Location
Certifikid asked us to visit and review Crayola Experience in Easton, PA, and I knew a six-hour roundtrip wasn’t going to happen in one day. So, I popped open Sir Google and was so happy to find this hotel. It is a quick 20-minute drive to Crayola Experience, and the perfect family-friendly destination.
The Ick Factor
For starters, cleanliness is super important to me. My Littles are typical toddlers, and they rough house and play on the floor constantly. I’m so grossed out when we arrive somewhere, and I feel like I need to Lysol every surface. I was so relieved to find that Springhill Suites was spotless. It might be the cleanest hotel we’ve ever stayed in.
How Much?
Budget is important to us. Finding a hotel in a great location, that is stylish, clean and comfortable, and has big family/kid-friendly amenities for under $150 is a hard thing to find. I was so happy we found it here.
The Digs
We stayed one night in a Double Queen Suite room on the fifth floor. It was furnished with clean carpet, crisp white linens, a shower (no tub for the little ones), and modern décor. The hotel provided Paul Mitchell toiletries. It also had a walk-in closet big enough for the baby’s bed. She has her own “private room” away from the noise, so she still gets an early bedtime. If you don’t use this trick, you aren’t really living!
We had a desk and chair with a large divider that provided a nice separate-room-feel for the kids. Speaking of, this is the first hotel we’ve ever visited that offered to have all three pack-n-plays ready and waiting for us. It was awesome! I dread lugging those things around. My back dreads it even more. Me and my back thank you Springhill Suites.
The day we arrived, we visited the small indoor pool. The kids loved splashing around on the steps and swimming around with me. Just outside, there is a nice, fenced-in sundeck. We warmed up out there after our swim. It almost felt like a 15-minute vacation!
The Bites
The next day, we woke up and headed down to the market area for our yummy hot breakfast. We enjoyed the scrambled eggs with all the fixings, Canadian bacon, fresh fruit, oatmeal, toast, bagels and juice. After speaking with the front desk, they brought out a highchair from the back for my youngest. I brought our portable highchair (it is so cool, by the way!) for the room because my one-year-old is impossible to feed when she’s not strapped in. Am I the only one? And, yes, she’s a total goofball, I love it.
One note, this hotel is a mix of business and family travelers, so the breakfast crowd is kind of funny. I felt like I needed to keep my kids quiet since we were surrounded by conference calls and business meetings in the next room. My littlest one walked over to wave good morning to all the laptop wielding business men. It was hysterical.
Would We Return?
Absolutely! We had a great visit, and we’ll add this to our list for our next trip to Pennsylvania.
