Temple Hall Farm is a working farm that allows the public to visit April through November.  There is a nice variety of farm animals housed on an absolutely gorgeous property with beautiful views in every direction.

So, why should you check it out?

1. Farm Animals – your little one will have the opportunity to get up close and personal with cows, chickens, sheep, turkeys and many more.

2. Freedom – we have visited a few times, and we’ve never run into a crowd (except at the Fall Festival).  My little ones love that they can have quite a bit of freedom to run around and “chase” the animals.  There aren’t many places I feel safe enough to let my kids just roam free.  Temple Hall Farm is one of those places.  The farm has tons of open space to explore and burn off some of that pent up energy.

3. All Those Animal Sounds – if your kids are anything like mine, then it is all about the animal sounds.  The horse goes neigh, the cow goes moo, the sheep goes bah and on and on it goes.  It was too cute when we strolled by the sheep pen, and both of my toddlers ran up to the fence and said BAAAAAAH.  It was the first time they had seen a sheep in real life.  We’d been learning about them, but they had only seen pictures.  The same thing happened when my son (pictured here) saw a cow in real life.  Boy, that was a lot of excited MOOing!

4. They Don’t Just Have to Look – we live near quite a few working farms, and most of them allow visitors, but it is strictly on a “look but don’t touch” basis.  This farm is different.  There are free roaming chickens and turkeys.  My daughter kept saying, “here, chicken chicken” as she ran around desperately trying to get them to eat the corn.  She also had a blast running around with the big turkeys they have on the property.

5. It’s Free! – ’nuff said

Yep, you read that right!  The farm is a regional park, and it is free.  They do host a few events a year that require an admission fee, but day-to-day, you can leave the wallet at home.  OK, don’t do that. I’d love to hear more about your day on the farm.  Enjoy!
